    Default Need a new filter/finisher

    Hi,

I am looking to buy for next season a bit bigger filter/finisher deal. We use a single cone filter now, and it works fine just want something with a say 12 gallon at a time capacity. Flat filter on top. Not a steam bottler or a water jacket, just a regular finisher. Looking for thoughts and suggestions. Anybody have one this size? And what should I expect to pay?
    Please help.

    Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

I just bought a Smoky Lake steam pan finisher/bottler that I'm happy with. It holds 13+ gallons and comes with the filter rack and lid. They also have a smaller 6 gal version. They sell the whole setup in components, so you could save money by skipping the steam pan - though it might be penny wise to include it now so you have it down the road. The two pans separate, so you can use the tank as a traditional pan if you need do. I did when I had to refilter a batch.

Good prices, quality work, free shipping.

Let me check with my partners. We have a Mason canner/finisher we no longer use. It's not water jacket or steam. Just square stove top with a filter tray. Holds 8 gallons to the bottom of the filter tray. 11 gallons to the rim
