Honestly, when I hear people state 30 gal per tap on vacuum, I really question their math skills. If you have a average of 7 gal per/tap on gravity, you may see 15-20 on "good" vacuum. 30 gal/tap is not realistic! unless your pulling 28cmh20 and sucking water out of the ground!

By the way, I have 80% reds and 20% sugar maples. A good year for me is 5 gal/tap. I hope that makes you feel better about your production!

Default How do you like your Phaneuf evaporators?

    Hello Gentleman,

Since you both are using them - I'm curious to hear how you like your Phaneuf evaporators? They look beautiful in the pictures I have seen - but I am curious to hear how they perform. Any advice to a potential Phaneuf buyer?

Also - I agree - 30 gpt seems extraordinarily high based on my personal experience (somewhat limited at 5 years) as well as my reading/research.

    Thanks - Tom
