Thats what im afraid im gonna see when i get home tonight too :-( I had icey puddles in the drive way when I left this morning, but im not sure how long it got below freezing last night. I had a feeling it was going to be over this week for me. so im not too disappointed, Ive had a lot of fun doing this my 1st season.

1/2 gal/tap on homemade vacuum so far today (still coming, but slow now). I'm at 1000' and our slope faces north, so it stays cooler here. I'm in Temple, which is in the south. The tops of the birches are turning red with buds, but no other signs of life in the trees yet. I'm guessing one more week left for me - yesterday's syrup was light amber and last year it got pretty dark before the end...

Hoping that this isn't the end of the season over here. I collected about 2 cups - yes cups - from my taps today. All taps were dry.

I finished off the near-syrup from my last boil last Sunday and bottled 111 oz.

I have 30 gallons that I've collected since Sunday waiting to be boiled. I plan to boil that down tomorrow evening.

I got 16 gallons today, a lot more than I expected. I did remove some taps that were dry...no need to keep them in. I am finished this weekend anyways, so I started some clean up :-) Ive got 60 gallons right now in storage...My Friday and Saturday are now taken up LOL

I have great southern exposure, may make a difference, 18 taps have filled two 60 gallon drums in three days and running a stream still at 10:45 pm. Over 5 gallons since sundown. Will have to take the day off tomorrow to boil as we have run out of storage

I'm planning on doing my last boil tonight of the 30 gal. I have in storage since Sunday. I've had very little sap this week and thought that I would have a little more, but I guess the nighttime temps haven't been cold enough for my trees. I'll wait until next week to pull the taps. Maybe I'll get a wee bit more from my trees.
