I added one more tap this afternoon around 5:00 - a Leader 5/16 straight spout that I picked up today at the Milford Agway. That thing started running like a leaky faucet. Only problem with that type of spout, my buckets don't fit it - needed to enlarge the hole on a plastic bucket. Looking like NH is going to have a good week! Better get ready for a lot of boiling time!
Im hoping so...i have a feeling im going to need a lot of propane this week...really wish i planned better and set up a wood burning setup, next year for sure!!

I had a busy day yesterday. I did 5 hours of boiling saturday night, and started it back up at 630am on Sunday morning. Boiled approximately 70-80 gallons of sap in 3 turkey fryers. Was lucky that a friend gave me some sap so I had plenty to work with. I got 22 gallons from my own trees yesterday. Moved a large batch of boiled sap to my finish pan thinking i was a lot closer to syrup than I was. I had hoped to end up with closer to 2 gallons yesterday, ended up making 145oz of syrup last night.

Here are some pictures and my results.

Bet you can't wait to get a real evaporator next year!

FYI, it looks like you've got a lot of air-space in those finished bottles. You'll want to minimize air space to less than 1/4" to reduce mold growth and/or spoilage.
