Default How to make a homemade reverse osmosis machine

Has anyone made a reverse osmosis machine that works? Would like to make one since it costs an arm and leg to buy one. Please provide instructions and knowledge of building this machine.

I am planning to build my own, probably next year as it will cost somewhere around $1 to $1.5K . The problem... no instruction manual or easy step by step directions. So my plan is to check out 1 or 2 this season so I see exactly what I need and how they work!!! They are in hot demand so even if you get a used one they are super$$$$$ . The good thing for me is that a little porducer in my next town town works for a water purification co. and has access to all the parts I may need as he built his own last year and it works great I guess but I haven't seen it yet!!!

Search for homemade RO threads on here, there are a couple that are great.
    Andy's Own Maple
Andy Kinter (4th + generation maple producer)
    Approx 790 taps on vacuum

3x10 nat. gas fired raised flue small bros.
    600 gph Lapierre RO
Fine collection of used bulk tanks
    Kubota MX5100 sap hauler
2 hives (that I don't spend enough time on)
A great family that works together to make syrup!
