I wonder how you want to measure? Amount produced? Average per tap? Or the sheer number of holes drilled per year?
I know you guys do a great job up there. How was your year?
I was thinking the same thing. There is a big difference between being the King and being the biggest producer. There are 50,000 tap operations that might make only .20 Gph. Then you have someone else with 3000 taps that make .60 Gph. The .60 guy is the King as far as I'm concerned. The .20 guy is not even close to being the king. I would love to be the King in my area but for now I'm only about a nine of hearts or so.

thats very true and you have a good point, but im looking for just the most taps

This thread is kind of like a 7th grader peaking left and right in the locker room. Learn everything you can about maple, make the best syrup you can and share the knowledge you gain with others. Tap counts might make us feel good but don't truly matter.
Andy's Own Maple
Andy Kinter (4th + generation maple producer)
Approx 790 taps on vacuum
3x10 nat. gas fired raised flue small bros.
600 gph Lapierre RO
Fine collection of used bulk tanks
Kubota MX5100 sap hauler
2 hives (that I don't spend enough time on)
A great family that works together to make syrup!
