Default Should we get together and meet other sugarmakers?

Last year we met with a bunch of sugarmakers down in Brunswick in the evening. Anyone want to get together in a central location, such as Augusta or Waterville and compare notes? It could be on a weekend morning or some evening.

What do you think? Please suggest some possible venues and times and we'll see what works.

I'll suggest Flatlander's diner on a Sunday morning. It's not far off the highway in Fairfield and has some room so we could talk at a big table.

I would like to, but farming for me is in high gear now, so I doubt I can make it. Can we rewind a couple of weeks and go back to the lazy days of putting wood in the evaporator?

Maybe we could meet some weekend morning in May. I suggest Flatlanda's, but any breakfast place could do within about a half hour from here. We could meet from 8am until 10 am. We're farmers so we wake up early, right?

I'm too busy to meet up from now until summer. We are starting up our other business, and every weekend is booked.

If you all are interested in meeting, I think before the season would be easier for most of us. Just a thought.

What do you think of next Saturday? In the morning, say around 8 am at the Pickup in Skowhegan? It's across from the movie theatre.

Default We'll be at the Pickup in Skowhegan on Saturday morning at 8am.

We'll be at the Pickup this Saturday morning, and next Saturday as well the 19th at 8am. The Pickup is diagonally across from the movie theatre in the old Somerset County Jail building. (don't worry, they'll let us in and out) There's lots of parking at the municipal parking lot and they have pancakes and even real maple syrup in case we've run out or have forgotten our own.

It's a great place to meet other sugarmakers. We usually sit at the big table in the middle and my name is Iver Lofving.

    See you there! Iver
