Sap Question
So this being my 1st year and all... I observe everything (like the darn ANTS that crawled up the tree last night into my bucket!...Must be Sweet!)
The sap today and yesterday still foamed and was pretty clear, but when I pour it through the S.S. Strainer I have it almost made like a Static Electricity noise...the bubbles popping I think...
Don't remember it doing that last week... Am I crazy or does that actually mean something?
2012- Can't Remember 1st year...
2013- 41 taps made 13 Gallons of Syrup
2014- 20 taps made 5.5 Gallons of Syrup
2015- 43 Taps made 10 Gallons of Syrup
2016- 43 Taps...
My ants showed up a couple days ago as well.
The crackling might be because it's warmer out? Just a guess, but I do think I know that sound.

well i think the cracking noise was the sound of our backs from hauling all them full buckets, i have heard that sound also have no idea lol

Something was different about the sound though...still clear sap here and I'm pretty sure in the morning I'm gonna have to haul in about close to 20 gallons of sap out of 9 of my taps... My Backyard tree is still dripping I could hear it when I let the dog out just now!
