I have been told that they can run for three days after a hard extended freeze, I had a 36 hour run several years ago, I hope Dr. Tim has time to wiegh in on this thread after his research projects end this season.
I'm curious if the time period of the freeze equals the run time during the thaw? I hope they will have some data on that at the Proctor Maple Research Center.

I hope so because it's been cold for 2 days here then warming up and no freezing for the whole week I think...
2012- Can't Remember 1st year...
2013- 41 taps made 13 Gallons of Syrup
2014- 20 taps made 5.5 Gallons of Syrup
2015- 43 Taps made 10 Gallons of Syrup
2016- 43 Taps...
