Default First lesson of the year

I learned my first lesson of the year today. Spent 4.5 hours boiling about 40 gallons of sap on my homemade evaporator today. Pulled it off because I ran out of sap finished in a turkey fryer. Was getting it to about 216 went inside for 3 min came back out and had a huge boil over. Ended up bottling 1 quart. So angry right now I could smash something.

Well it just about happened to all of us. Look at the bright side, you are done with your initition for leasson 1. You will never go in the house again when it is that close to syrup.
Better luck the rest of the season.

I learned that lesson the very first day I ever boiled. Never did it again!
