Database error notice- does everyone get this

I don't think it's anyone's computer but the forum software itself. This board is a new set up from last year so there's probably still some bugs that need to be worked out. I get these intermittently but what I've noticed is that it almost always happens at times when the forum is very active, usually in the evening hours. I have a feeling it may be related to the number of users trying to retrieve data at the same time and maybe overloading the system. My error messages say that the forum administrator has been notified so I haven't bothered to contact anyone .... but it probably wouldn't hurt.

You need to e-mail Kim and let her know something is up. Chris, Kim and Tommy don't read the posts, so they don't always know if something is'nt working correctly. Chris himself told me this at the VVS conference. Maybe they do know about it, who knows? Nobody will know for sure until their contacted. E-mail her and see what happens.

IMHO The problem is related to user activity and lies with wherever the forum is being hosted. Not enough silicon in the servers at the hosting company where they have this forum parked.

yeah, bandwidth could be part or even all of the problem but the administrator is also working on optimizing the database per the last update to this other thread. This says they're looking at software issues to me.

I've only had one or two burps from this site since the database was optimized. It was more than frequent before that. Whatever it is it seems to be related to high traffic and high demand, at least imho. I almost never get these in the AM. The PM is when it always seemed worse at my house.

I have my own Forums and website and when I was getting this I went into my server control panel and did something called "Fix/repair the Database" and it worked...

I get the error too and it is server side.

It seems to happen under load so maybe too many database connections?

I couldn't even access the site last night. Hosting upgrade is in order I think.

I've been getting the error about every other page change tonight. Unfortunately, if you type something and send it, you'll lose it if the error comes up. I have since learned to highlight the entire message and hit "copy". That way if the submission fails, I can go back and paste and try again. If I remember.
