Big temp difference between my house and sugarbush this morning (six miles away, down by Bodies house). I had Ethan shut the pump off last night as it was slushing up at about 9 0'clock and the moon was full. Looked at the temp this morning it read 53 at the house so I jumped in the car and went to start the pump got down there and it was 31 and it froze up tight. Even the cooling line from the brook had froze solid. Got back to the house and three thermometers and the one in my truck read in the fifties. I need to replace the one @ the sap house as some rodent has chewed the end off of the sending unit. Had an ok run yesterday, only had 24 or so inches of vac, once all thawed, walking the lines today

just talked to one of the guys at Fullers Sugarhouse in Lancaster. They have no intention of pulling taps. They have 1000 gallons of syrup produced which is about 20% of a full crop.
2012: Probably 750 gravity taps and 50 buckets.

    600 gal stainless milk tank.
    2 - 100 gallon stock tanks
    one 30 gal barrel
    50 buckets

3' x 10' Waterloo Raised Flue wood fired evaporator w/ open pans.

    12" x 20" Filter Canner

Sawmill next to sugarhouse solves my sugarwood problem

Gather with GMC 3500 2wd Pickup w/ 425 gallon Plastic Tank.

Been tapping here in Lyman NH since 1989 but I've been sugaring since 8 years old in 1968.
