Default Dr. Tim Perkins: Keynote speaker at 2012 annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Northwest Pennsylvania Maple Producers Association looks to be an exciting and informative event. Dr. Tim Perkins will be speaking at 9:00am and 1:00 pm about "Maximizing Sap Yield with Tubing" and "How does all this new technology affect Maple Syrup" respectively. Of course one day with Dr. Perkins is not enough time to pick his brain, so to maximize this opportunity for our sugar makers we'll be holding a Friday Night Pre-Meeting from 6pm to 9pm as a Q/A and Discussion session. This is open to all producers and hobbyists (Cost $5 includes pizza, salad, drinks) Hope to see everyone there for this great opportunity! For more information check out www.pamaple.org

Dave, sorry you missed a great time. I believe the head count was around 160. Dr. Perkins spoke mostly about vacuum research. It was technical, just what us vacuum freaks need to improve our yield.

Thanks Dr. Perkins for coming to Pennsylvania and to all the board members who make this event happen.

    Dan,
I guess I did miss something then. I may have to stop and see your operation one of these days. My son lives close to you. He is on the Russellton - Doresyville Rd. I assume you know where that is. Have you tap yet?

Just a quick note of thanks to the board members, organizers, and attendees of the NW PA meeting this past weekend. I had a great time, and met a lot of really wonderful maple producers. I enjoyed the Friday night session also - lots of really good questions. Best of luck to all of you on the upcoming season.
