well im breaking ground on the new location for my sugar house tomarrow, or as it has become known around here as project addiction. the two year old post and beam sugar house will be reassembled on the new slab and have a addition put on so the total size will be 20x24. new arch is in the works and im pretty much sold out of product from last year. everything seems to be coming together so far anyway. anybody else go ah little nutty this summer with this addiction that is worse than crack

I paln a little then do it and hope it comes out good in the end. the first year is the biggest learning curve. you figure out what you did wrong and fix it. Every year after that you keep tweeking then grow more!!!!
may your sap be at 3%

Boon docker: Have a ball! Hope we can help fuel your fire!

My addiction is fueled by the need to build stuff! Crazy stuff like steam away, restore a evaporator, build a sugar house, build a candy machine and a cream machine and a caner and AFO and AUF and hoods and stacks and stack covers and roof jacks and repair syrup pans, go from 400 buckets to 575 taps on short run tubing, and it seems to go on. After the last 12 years of that I have tapered off a smidgen. Plus maybe the 50 years of making syrup has made me a little wiser?
I also really like good syrup! YUM!
