    Default nasty looking stainless steel

why does stainless steel look so dirty after a few yrs of boiling,i just bought a 4yr old mason 2x4,ive been washing and scrubbing the pans for a week now and cant get the shine back,my old tin pan i wash it out with dish soap and hot water coat it with lard and wrap it up in an old canvas and it looks like it was never used.i just dont like the looks of stainless when it doesnt shine and i dont beleive it to be safer than my tin when it wont shine.

Next year soak it in old sap till the middle of June. It will shine like brand new. Or if it is welded buy some acid and presto new again.

Keep in mind that Bill Mason's pans were never shiney, even when they were new. He uses heavy 2b finish Stainless Steel.
