just a couple side notes about lead-acid batteries:
1) get a deep cycle battery (not a regular automotive battery). They are designed to be repeatedly charged and discharged.
2) Try no to let your battery get below 50% state of charge (SOC). If you do, the plates will sulfate and the battery life will be shortened.
3) Recharge the battery promptly after usage. Sulfation will NOT happen if you keep the battery charged.
