    Default SLOW running!

The weather is crazy today! Temps in Bethel are above 60 and all our taps are dripping really SLOW if any at all.

Anyone else having a slow go at it?

Flow depends on a lot of things. It didn't get real cold last night and it's been warm for a few days. Besides, this is the first real warmth we've had in several months so the trees need to wake up. Mine are still sleepy....only had about a gallon per tap per day the past three days.

It's nice to get an early run but things will quiet down for a little bit again. Enjoy the run you've got! It's the only run you've got!

Not doing well in Willington, either.

Temps were too warm last night and managed 1 gallon out of 10 taps (don't have a lot of taps to begin with but still).

I wondered about tapping with such a short, funky warm spell like this but I'm hopeful on next week's forecast of colder nights. Bad enough I have to slog through 2 foot snow pack to get to so little!

Collected another 50 gallon tonight for the second boil of 2011 tomorrow. First batch came out nice. Guess with the quick warm spell we all expected to get buried with sap.

today i collected 275 gallons off about 370 taps on 17 in of vac, my other 120 on gravity didnt even make enough to fill a 5 gal pail. i think the lack of freeze last night was the trouble as others have pointed out, but its still early

We had a great two day run in Stamford. 570 gallons over 2.5 days off of roughly 300 taps. Boiled over 12 hours yesterday and made 10 gallons of fancy.
