    Default No mas!

My father boiled 150 gal. yesterday. Rained all day and could not get the fire and boiling rate up. Head tank is full and about 120 gal. in the bulk tank. I'll need Jim Brown's assistance. He can have all the sap out of the bulk tank. We just can't keep up. We're going to drain and clean the pan this morning. Then haul more wood

BOiling here. Had 250 gallons from yesterday that I'm boiling off now...run the evaporator hard till four then let it cool and go collect and then start it up again. It's going to be a long night. On the bright side ive drawn off a gallon and a half of syrup already.

Paddy Mtn glad to see that you made it back safe. I hope the wife didn't rub it in too much on the amount of syrup she made!

Trees not running that good today. I collected about 80 gals. There was one bucket that I could not get to. I would have to wade thru about 2' of water. There is a low spot in the stand of trees that I tap and it has filled up with rain water. That one bucket is about 4' out in the water but it drops off fast at the edge. I'll get it another day.

Started to boil this evening but shut it down early to bottle up some syrup for people and also to clean the pans. I was going to do it before starting to boil but somehow it slipped my mind.

Its not looking good fro sap flowing down here much more beyond next week. I am hoping to get another 2 gals before the end. That would put me over 25 gals!

Finally had a decent run, boiled most of the day. The trees started running yesterday about noon, and have been running slow but steady ever since. Still running now, but had to shut down since I was boiling faster than it was coming in. 2% sap, drew off maybe 6 gallons unfinished syrup, looks medium amber.

Got just over 200 gal boiled tonight. Just too beat to get out there and stay up late.

I have around 1000 gal in the tanks left to boil. I think after that I'm done for the season. Trees only running 1.4 to 1.5 percent. I'll be at 6200 gallons total.

Weather looks like another good run or two next week then no freeze for a while. Usually, I'm scrambling and loose a run or two at the beginning of the season. This year, I'll be missing the last two.

Looks like everyone is having a great year. Best wishes to all...

Last night boiled about 170 gal of sap, tomorrow I'm going to chase it through the evaporater and finish it . Sun-Tue looks favorable I think it will be our last run.

Dennis H . Sounds like you had your new evaporater chugging along pretty
hard all season 25 gal is a respectable amount of syrup.
