Did you have any issues running the Goulds 7GBS at that high of pressure? The curve charts for that model only show a max PSI/ dynamic head pressure of around 185psi.
What PSI are guys running the Gould pumps?
What does the T and re-circulation line do? I thought you only needed that if you were adding a inline pump to re-circulate?
Right now I have a 1/2hp motor running my 240 Procon pump. If I go to a 330gph I will need to bump up my motor size to 1.5-2hp 220. This is not a problem if it my best solution.
It sounds like we are a similar size operation
I am an engineer and handy with mechanical projects. I would recommend building a 4x40 RO with a 240gph or 330gph Procon pump. Honestly they are not...
Hi I built a single 4x40 membrane RO system with a 240 Procon pump a few years ago and it works great. Now I am looking to improve my system to allow me to run it less hours. I am wondering what you...
how are you building it? i have built one and may be able to give some pointers. Mine utilizes a 4x40 membrane and a procon pump. This will be my 3rd year on it.
I check my RO hourly and no sugar is in the RO water. I have not emptied my pan yet but when I filled my pan it took 12 gallons of sap. I am measuring my sap volume with an impeller style water meter...

yes i was talking about 86 divided by sugar content. This should give you how many gallons of sap will equal one gallon of syrup. I finish to 66 brix
Hi i have boiled roughly 800 gallons and only have finished 8.5 gallons of syrup. This seems to be way off from the 86/ sugar content rule. My syrup has averaged 2.58% sugar. I am using a calibrated...
I collected 185 gallons yesterday from my 168 taps. My sap was still crystal clear and some sack still had ice in them. None of my tress are slowing down yet.
I think Sunday was spotty. My taps were running very good but my buddy who lives 30 minutes south of me only had 10 gallons from 54 taps.
Sunday was my best run of the season. I collected 224 gallons from 168 taps.
yesterday I collected 224 gallons that was 2.5%. I have had sap range from 2-3%
Collected 76 gallons today form 141 taps.
I have 141 of my 188 taps in. Today i had 40-45 gallons of sap.
I tapped 141 this weekend i hope to see ti run by Saturday. I am an hour north of grand rapids.
I put in 45 taps on Sunday and had 30 gallons of sap yesterday. I am happy with that. I am planning on tapping all 188 taps this week. I expect the sap to run next week.
I am located an hour north of grand rapids. The best producing trees were on the south edge of the woods.
I had 30 gallons form 45 taps today
Buckeye thanks for the pics that helps a lot. What kind of fan are you powering your air over fire with?
Buckeye, yes I have the fire wall in the back. Do your flues still sit in the fire box? I noticed on my rig that the fire seemed to get sucked through the flues and out the stack without touching the...
