What do you need out of your ro is the question. That guy doesn’t really show his permeate coming out. Your standard 4” membrane has an operating range of up to 600psi. Here’s the most important...

So when you talk about recirculation on a non hobby ro. Recirculation is the term used to speed the flow across the surface of the membrane. This is achieved by a pump Lapierre and cdl use motors on...
I bought this fall a lapierre turbo 250. After looking at it it’s the same frame as a 600 and a 1200 etc even looks like the same pump as a 600.
It’s running a 3hp pump, has anyone seen or heard of...
When building a ro, use nitto espa4 membranes. Those are the ones that guys call “maple specific”
When moving forward from a procon pump a goulds 10gbs20 is your part number for a stainless...
Nitto 4” espa4 is what ya need. I like when they get called “maple specific” as the are a hydraunics membrane still used for water purification. $225 isn’t bad most dealers what something like $400...
I’m in the same process. I did my last two boils of the season on an oil gun. 30x8 leader max and I’m running it at 6.8 gph.
But I to am questioning about taking the brick out and just doing...
Anyone build a fill stop for a caner? I see leaders and the valve part is easy just curios if anyone’s got a control setup for it. Thanks
Can anyone save me some time?
Looking for a multistage pump as my high pressure pump build for next year. Seems like it’s hard to come up with something like cdl leader pumps. Found pompco but no...
The ro bucket membranes are already cheap household membranes. If you want results and a membrane that’s designed to do what we do get one from nitto hydraunics.
I appreciate the info and knowledge, that gives me a place to start!
I’ve been wood fired for the last 21years. I’m now deciding I’m tired and too busy to cut firewood and to pay my hired help to cut wood I might as well just burn oil.
I picked up a Carlin 701 crd...
Personally I would ditch the 4” membranes. 1 8” vessel is equivalent to 4 at 4”. A multistage booster pump with the membranes in a loop keep the sugar from fouling.
Are you using soap on a wash cycle? Also acid wash? If you do t consider these filmtech membranes junk
I don’t see anything here that will keep a membrane from fouling up.
So I run a procon pump and a stainless multistage Dayton pump. The procon feeds into a loop system with a t at the first vessel and another t at the last vessel. The multi stage pump and vessels just...
I have a mechanical double vertical releaser that the PVC 2 inch going into the 12 inch canister has snapped off.
My idea is to take a little coping saw and cut the remainder off to the...
I think I bought a 260 from here and it was dirt cheap after my wife found a code
I would steer away from the little membranes. They are really meant for water purification not sugar and do not wash out that great in my opinion. Once you ro 150 gallons to 35 gallons you’ll want to...
How many membranes are you running? Keep them in series, anymore than 3 you are better off with going to a 8040 membrane vessel and you really do not need a 600gph pump unless you have 2 8inch...
You want a gb Gould series if you’re looking to go to a multi stage pump with aprox 700ft head pressure.
I personally run a procon stainless with feed pump and use a multistage pump as a recirc....
Get something with a recirc pump
Been down the road with 4” membranes and procons. They work but are not truly effective after removing 20 gallons of water they slow right down from sugar fowling. That’s where you ad a multistage...
I looked over comments quick and feel like I’m missing important info. How high from the bottom set of trees to the main line under vac? One thing I’ve learned is the fewer lifts the better outcome....
It all depends on pump capabilities. I think it would move some sap just not as efficient as having the pump by the tank. If it was me I would keep my pump by the tank and run a power source out...
I would go to a 4x40 membrane with a 3/4 feed and drain with 1/2 permeate drains. Rule of thumb is 1 of these per 100 gallons a hr. You have to remember your sucking in the sap at 100gal a hour and...
