For last few years we've pumped through a 7" press, 20ft to the water...
I've had 1300 on it since 2013. No complaints. Follow versa profiles rule of stretching it 3% (youtube). The strap stuff is also excellent. I had a CDL rep spend a day with me. Once you get hang of...
We're just south of Trout Creek. Our 1150 on vac ran enough late last week for us to process and boil. Sap was at 2.1%. I'am guessing Mattawan Twp would be a bit behind us.

Still running enough for vacuum in Trout Creek. Hope for below 0 nights this week. I wouldn't pull your taps yet..
Honeywell flame sensor model: 120320.
I have one that is pink (the #1 burner) the second is more of a yellow colour. Is one "done"?
I installed new nozzles and now having trouble firing. ...
Anyone having issues with some of their jugs this year? Some of our 4 litre and 2l tops don't jive with the lids.
Purchased this year. OMSPA style.
I'll be returning them.
We have 7.5 horse sihi and we get our cooling water from a creek.
A 1" gravity line on the ground steals water from the creek and keeps a barrel on its side full. Barrel is slighty below pump. ...
Depending on the number of taps you have on those 4 lateral mains, distance from your vacuum, and the amount of money/time you want to spend. I would lean towards a separate booster for each of your...
We improved our average here with higher vac and 1/3 CVs. Low sugar beginning of year=longer boiling so that hurt the already high oil prices (we fire with oil).
Overall either average or slightly...
Anyone have a list of Ontario prices? I heard they have dropped compared to last year.
Those US prices look low to me.
Still running the vac. Appears that only the CVs are running. Probably boiling out the evaporator tomorrow.
Been a long season, tiring season for us. Oil burners caused alot of grief and a week...
Not sure what to do now...
Spoke to Carlin to confirm the spacing of the flange inside the "combustion chamber", aka: arch. It is .5in. Draft set at 70%
Lowered the firebox by taking out the...
we are getting impingement on bottom of arch. Going to trim the blanket as I do have it overlapping for a few inches.
Don't think it will fix the heat going up the stack I'am afraid....dropping...
We adjusted the draft.
Pump pressure is sitting at 150 psi for each burner.
I am however getting impingement on the bottom of the firebox. I have ceramic blanket over top of brick lining the arch....
found the pump pressure of one of the pumps was low, so we adjusted that. Also changed the photocells on both burners and adjusted the drafts.
Guy that was here has 40+ years experience so I figure...
keep in mind that on heavy flow days and when your wet line is frozen, sap will come in via your dry line...if you want to consider food grade pipe for your dry as well.
I went black water pipe for...
we adjusted the drafts to get more air. That took the smoke away but not the buildup underneath.
I had 8gal/hr, 60degree nozzles and tried 45s. By doing that I think I took the oil/soot buildup...
Any suggestions to quickly clean underside of flue? I can only jack up my hood 3-4inches, therefor the flue only raised up same.
I've been having issues with my two Carlin 601 burners on my 5x16...
...good point..
Try Quebec? Depends on how far the buyer wants to truck it I guess. We'll see in a month what the supply is going to be.
Why not try a batch of candies? I personally don't have the patience to make'em...thats my wife's department. Peanuts (Dark or strong Medium), I can handle...
sap still running well and today was your last boil...for the year?
best and cheapest method to clean your pans is to fill them right up with sap, let sap sour, it will get scummy and stink and...
go to Ontario Maple Syurp Prod. Assoc. website: http://www.ontariomaple.com/directory/bulk-buyers-of-maple.html
spread that on your toast in the morning..its awesome!
kidding.
Its for sure from warm temperatures helping the natural bacteria develop in the sap.
Adding another pre-filter to grab that crap...
I have Lapierre, potable water, D&G, IPL and Leader mainlines. Didn't have off taste last year, but this year only first 15gal of syrup.
Not last year probably because we missed the first run of...
