best way and the easiest is the oven at 200 to 220 degrees for 20 minutes. do it ahead of time so that they will still be a little warm when you bottle.
big eddy did have a formula ,i don't believe you can find it any more. i worked it out and it didn't come close to what i had been getting on my evap. i think that there are so many variable with...
i have only 7-10 per line and running them to 4 way mounted on the manifold. the runs are short because of how the trees are spread out.
shurflo pumps while not made, i think, to pull air but if you keep the diaphragm wet they sure do. that is why my feed back line and valve are there. i have only red maple with 5/16' lines ,and only...
thanks hillcress maple.
i do sort of the same however i plug all of my manifold inputs and use the feedback line to see just how much vacuum the pump can produce . that will let me know if i have...
this year i've replaced my shurflo pumps with the shurflo 4048's. when bench testing with the manifold hooked up and with a feed back line with a valve for adjustment, what should or could i expect...

the info you got with your cup explains how to adjust the cup or go to their web site. the adjustment screw is on the back of the dial.

i also used the 1'' insulation board on my vision, make sure to use the half size brick you don't want to reduce the size of the fire box.
any of the maple syrup dealers carry the insulation boards. your best bet is to use the 1'' board .that is what i used on my vision, and you'll not be sorry latter on.
i wouldn't dare make a suggestion about that. i ran insulated pipe from thru the roof on up and have a rain cap. i was afraid that the cap might reduce my draw but i still maintain good stack temp...
your evap is new and has been bricked. did the mortar have a chance to dry properly ? also is the evap completely closed up ? i keep my pan up off the rails on 2x4's and leave the fire box door...
i don't think your storm collar could in anyway cause water to enter the inside of the stack. the water would have to come in through the rain cap or possibly though the stack it self. it is possible...
let it sit for days or weeks ? it is an acid. do you use regular 5% or cleaning vinegar of 10% ? and what ratio do you use ?
swingpure are you referring to foam or bubbles near the draw off. there is a difference ?
What you have, my friend, is a very large woodpecker, called a pileated woodpecker. Beautiful to see, hard on dead trees. As large as a crow, we have them around here all the time. They really seem...
I've done some searches and haven't come up with what I'm looking for.
I have a 18x60 Lapierre Vision, with a raised flue pan. i know an over the air is the most effective but i don't want to change...
i'm sure many of you don't remember the ''old days'' i mean the real old days, but before we had electricity we kept our milk cans set right in the brook to keep the milk cold until it was picked...

different evaps would require different lengths of time to get to specific Brix readings. Can you correlate your boil times to Brix levels?
what is the purpose of the steel plate a round under the pan ? why not remove steel plate and just place your insulation on the cinder block. it will provide a seal just as well as if the pan was...
We may have a few new people on the forum that haven't seen this, so I thought I'd post it. It might explain a lot of us.
