Seems as we have gotten off topic. Anyone with experience infusing CBD in their syrup? Anyway to get “our” syrup into new consumers is far from “stupid” as others have said. However when it’s...
I purchased a LineViper. I’ll take my 1 handler over it any day. They are heavy, bulky and awkward to use. Tried pushing on spouts while making drops, pretty sure they would all leaks (using...
Started pre spouting yesterday (CV2's). 1700 on with 1700 left. We have done this the past several years. Saves a lot of time, "when it's time". I also have about 6500 pre-made (at the factory)...
Made another 285 of Dark Robust today. Stopped buying sap today also. Enough sap on hand to make another 250-275 tomorrow. Currently at 4480 for the season. Was hoping to make 20-30 drums of...
13th boil was yesterday. Surpassed last year. Last year we boiled 21 times and made 2680 gallons. After last boil we're at 2900. Sap is still going strong, clean and clear. Good sugar. ...
First boil of the season is in the books. Made about 65 gallons. The new D&G 3000gph RO was processing 2600per with 37 degree sap concentrating to 13%. 5gpm of concentrate. Not to bad for a shake...
Spud,
I bought 45,000gal, and produced 70,000gal of my own last year. Processed on a 2 post machine. This year should be a "little" less RO'ing time! Always buying good clean sap!
Word on the street is D&G is opening a store in North Bennington Vermont. Opening by the 1st of March.
Still working on my new Sugarwoods. The lot will have about 7000ish taps when all done. Trying to get 1750 for this season. Started installing the second week of November. 2 men, afternoons and...
Wishlist,
You could always put a piece of protected wire around your end tree, then hook your slide directly to the wire without the extra piece required to hook to 5/16" tubing. This way the...
Currently setting up a new sugarwoods. We are spacing mains at 55-65' and trying to average around 3 taps per lateral line.
Close the slide all of the way with pliars. I do mine while installing. Otherwise the 5/16" tubing will slip back and kink the loop going to the saddle.
We use end rings on the end tree, also 1 way tee's on the end tree drop to prevent sap from traveling to a "dead end". We then use slide fittings on the main end hooking it to the wire. Streching...
JoeJ,
What are you using for pipe on your wet/dry?
Jason,
I forgot to pre-register. Can I register Thursday at the field days sight?
Thanks in advance,
Yes I buy sap. Though most all of my sellers have given up. My woods are still producing 1.3% sap. Making Amber Rich color with strong maple flavor. Just under 2600 as of today. The forecast...
Sealed drum #60 tonight. Sap has almost stopped, though the pumps are still on. Looks like 3-4 nights in the 20's next week, let's hope the weather man is wrong about the high temps for sat and...
175 gallons made today/evening. 1600 for the season. Looks like tomorrow should be a 200+ day. Currently 28 and falling.
13000 gal of sap. Made 260gal of Medium. RO'ing as I type for the morning.
12000 gallon in. After blowing the fuse on a nearby transformer and GMP having to send a truck to fix, managed to make 3 drums of medium. Concentrating through the night. Trees still producing...
Processed 6500 gallons of sap today and made 130 gallons of syrup tonight.
I went with Leader's 15 bank "Clear", just finished putting 125 gallons through it without any issues. Only requiring 23psi to push at the end. I upgraded to the SS Air pump when I ordered it in...
Made 80 gallons of Golden Delicate tonight.
1500 gallons yesterday and 750 today (south side only). First Boil of the season will be tomorrow. Should run decent the next 3 days if the forecast holds.
