Here's the one I made.21029
I've tapped in late January and early February many years. I have a combo of buckets and gravity tubing, no vac. Early runs are good, but it usually freezes up again and no good runs for a few weeks....
With the weather the way it is, I've got the itch to tap. Usually as soon as I do, it freezes up again. Anyone started tapping yet?

I just finished my homemade RO. I have a 1/2 HP shallow well pump feeding my 330 Procon with 1/2 HP motor. I can get to about 160 easily. I have 4x40 MES membrane.

Seems like I'm doing pretty much like the rest of you do. Drain and filter the sweet and clean as needed, with vinegar if necessary. Thanks all for the feedback.

Hi all, looking to build a small RO for my operation to cut down on time and wood consumption. Looking to use a 4" x 40" membrane. What are your opinions for the best membrane to use?

Boiled the last 4 nights, 100 gallons or so each night. Boiling rate of 20-25 gallons per hour. No RO.
Thanks Dill, I'm not far from there, Ledge Farm Road.

Started tapping today. Holes aren't as wet as they usually are when I tap, but it'll come.
New stack on the evaporator this year as the original rusted away after about 5 seasons. Got some new...
A propane torch works great if you're careful. That's all I've used on my 100 or so taps on tubing.
Started tapping this week on Weds while it was warm. Hope to be fully tapped this weekend.
Tapped the last weekend of January and am still waiting for a big run. Maybe tomorrow. We have about 100 taps and have made about 7 gallons of dark syrup on a new Leader 2x6' WSE drop flue. ...
