Dead on . Agree 100 percent
I believe the supply and demand right now is a huge problem. Big installs all over . That syrup has to be sold someplace. On the flip side marketing is I think a bigger problem. If you look at the...
I'm looking for a small pump to run about 300 taps. Wondering if anyone would have one for sale ? I've heard that the Gast pumps are good ? I'm in Greenwich NY . I also have a Delaval 75 I would...
I feel really bad for guys with these CV's . Brian said it best. It is hard enough when you have properly produced material. When it comes brand new and defective that makes everything so much...
Fully tapped in Greenwich ! Have been for a bit. Hoping to be able to fix leaks this weekend and get the vacuum super tight. Not sure if it will be warm enough to get much sap to boil .
Looks like you and I have the same standard Randy.
Going by the weight of the spout compared to what is left in SOME cases is splitting hairs ! When somebody pulls there tap the complete tap should be pulled not half or a quarter or 94.5%.
I wonder how many landowners would like the thought that when a producer is pulling his taps that they are only pulling half the tap ? It might fly within the industry but a lot of landowners...
It came right from Leader. How is that a rumor ?
I would sue as well ! No question ! To offer a dollar a spout is about the same as offering people who spend thousands a hot dog and a cold drink !
Tried the black ones once. Last ones to start running and first ones to quit. I feel really bad for anybody having them now. Truly is a tough pill to swallow. Making a living doing this, I if I had...
How are you going about finding your leaks ?
[QUOTE=Luv2farm;240356]Thanks for the info everyone. I believe the RO will be first w/ upgraded Max pans then the steam away...trying to get everything done w/ a 3x10 Leader inferno arch/Revolution...
I use a deep well pump !
Very well said Sugarman3 ! I am 100% in agreement !
[QUOTE=Too Tall;239316]Fairly new guy here.
I won't be able to tap when it warms up around here in (give or take) 10 days. Is it OK to tap my trees when it is 20 degrees out and won't warm up to...
If its this cold a month from now I would maybe sort of be thinking a little negative . Now I'm happy to see it and am planning for a good season ahead !
Right on Brian !
A friend of mine tapped 70 taps give ort take a couple. Didn't tap anything under 3ft . All roadside trees and fully mature "sap cows ". All buckets and last year made 44 gals. No vacuum just...
A min maybe two at the most . Brand new at the time .
I have a Sihi60 cfm pump. If I remember right that was how mine started last year. Dribbled a little bit and then it started to really spray and gush out.
Bottom line is nobody knows at all !
Its only the start of Feb. I don't see this as a late start at all ! Seems more normal than anything !
Just wondering what your reason is for not going to 20% in one pass with each machine ? 3 post machine should do that.
Wondering how everyone who has NF 270 membranes likes them?
