Hi, Do you have a better quality picture of the wiring? I built an auto drawoff a few yrs ago but looking to add a modulating valve to it.
Cheers!

Sure hoping we get a spring, winter is dragging on now. Was looking at last years records and we're pretty on the same pattern; off by a day or two.
Can you paste the link?
Maybe it was connected between the 2 front pans. I just forget and I can't seem find it again on the web.
I came across a niter trap last week on the web, but I can't remember where I saw it. It was essentially tall narrow tank / pan between the flue and the front pans to catch niter and keep it from...
This is what I've come up with to turn maintenance into a one man job. I made it to work on both 5/16 and 3/16 because we are running both at the moment. Tension can be adjusted easily, it can work...
Thanks for the replies. I figure that is why the other big manufactures don't carry.
A question for mid-size producers.. what are you using for finishing and where did you buy it?
Is it Oil fired or propane?
We currently have a 18 x 36 (approx) old DG propane burner but looking...
Just finished up our first boil. We had a surprise run over night Wednesday and most of Thursday. Good sugar content too, it was just under 2 which is higher than our norm. This was the first run...
None of the replies mentioned the lower sugar content... I would be interested in hearing peoples opinions. Do you get an average lower sugar content when using a vacuum? We don't use a vacuum...
-17 with the wind. doesn't feel much like spring but we're almost all tapped. The old system had a chance flush this past week so the next thaw we get, we'll be collecting.
I've been using a siro filter for 4 years and really like it; super simply clean up. As we've gotten bigger and have started bottling in bigger batches, I find it's under performing. I have the...
Is very good. We just received about 24" of snow in the last 48 hours.
What's everyone up to NS? We've been busy since early Jan. setting up new bush and equipment. We're aiming to get another 500 tabs on board this year. We purchased a new 2 x 8 DG and 400 GPH D&G RO...
Yeah, my woods wouldn't be great for that. It's relatively narrow (across the slop) and long (down the slope)
Yes, it will close without a power source; that is actually how it closes. There is a capacitor on the valve that stores enough energy to close the valve. When the circuit closes, the capacitor...
I've built 2 draw offs with a solenoid style valve over the last couple of years and currently working on my third. I've purchased what looks to be the identical ball valve as the Smokey Lake. I do...
I have a grade of 22%, how many taps can I put on a 3/4" main line?
Jason,
Does auto defoamer drip are regular intervals or is it triggered by a temp change / foam level?
I don't think the valve is included in the kit.
going on three weeks here. +11 for friday, that can only mean good things
With the lack of fresh sap, we had a chance to bottle everything up so far and add some more taps. 30 taps on one 3/16" earlier this week and ran laterals lines today for another 60 or so taps.
With the clamps super tight, the 3/16 will just barely slip out so I thought about grinding a hair off the clamps so they could be used for both 5/16 and 3/16 because i don't want to have to carry...
Snappy here, -16 with the wind. Afraid there won't be much sap today and for a couple more days. Looking at he forecast, we have 4 or 5 days before any more sap.
Has anyone successfully modified or created a tool (double tube clamps) that works on both 3/16 and 5/16 tubing?
