I am going through the same process and have am using some fire brick to modify the fire box, a little trial and error, monitor the evaporation rate and the front pan boiling rate for different...
You need 2 high pressure valves, the needle valve for the out going concentrate and a second high pressure valve in your recirculating line assuming you are recirculating to the low pressure side of...
We have a tester for the flue vacuum and plan on installing a manual butterfly damper in the flue. Our flue is 10 inch and 25ft of stack, worked great for wood but probably too much for oil
Stainless is quite reflective
We just rinse and go
We are running a 30 X 10 with an 8 ft flue pan. Just bought a Beckett cf800 with a variety of nozzles planning on 5 to 6 gph at 150psi
We are setting up our new oil burner in our converted evaporator. What is a good stack temp to shoot for and how much draft in the stack? Thanks
Just use a pump instead of a ladder. You are correct the small diaphragm pumps do not have enough cfm to run a ladder. Those pumps do pump up quite well
We also use 2x2 posts and I cut a few small notches in the posts ahead of time to hold the wire
I run 2 660s on Harbor freight 2hp 1800 rpm motors and they have run great 4 years now. The high pressure recirculating loop cuts in before the needle valve and re enters just after the primary...
You need to be careful when running the 660gph pump with 4 inch membranes, most caps are sized for 1/2 inch pipe which is too restrictive and you will get pressure build up in the lines which is made...
Thank-you for the advice just ordered a Beckett cf800, looking forward to a simpler operation
Thank-you all for your input cv spouts are on order, they were shipped today so they must be back in stock
We have been changing our drops every 3 years rotating through sugar bush, looking at cv spouts to save time changing drops. Can anyone doing this give some advice. Thank-you
We are planning on converting our 2.5 x 10 to oil this year. We have a 2ft front pan and 8ft flue pan and boiling 8-10% concentrate. What size oil nozzle is recommended? We are thinking about a...
Yes there is an advantage to doing that as long as your plumbing can handle the increased flow with out building pressure. 3/4 inch fittings would be a min
The larger procons series5 and 6 need a feed pump, the smaller ones run fine on gravity, the advantage of a feed pump is a low pressure switch to shut the whole system down you run out of sap
We run a 2565 and a 2567 both are great, they pull 27 inches all season long, ours are outside but under cover so cooling is not a big deal, they are loud however
Yes that will work but you will need a canister with 3/4 inch openings or you will have pressure problems, 2 4inch membranes in parallel works great with that pump
We use these with great success, an impact driver is bust for tightening the clamps, we -reassemble them before we go out, don’t bend them open just spring them over the pipe then grab the plastic...
Syrup will continue to evaporate even when off the heat, you are probably to thick hence the filtering problem and it may have started to crystallize but you would have had to been way thick for that...
Upgraded my 3 x 4inch to one mes 8 inch, the plumbing in simpler. I have a 1.5hp feed pump, procon 660 pressure pump and another procon 660 high pressure recirculating pump. This runs well but it is...
Try replacing the o rings before giving up on the membrane.
warm water 110 degrees will help, let circulate for a couple of hours.
