Nice looking Allis Chalmers Chris
I picked up a 2x3 from Bill Mason this year.. huge upgrade from the barrel stove. Well built with a fair price. Also well worth the trip to pick it up from him as he takes the time to walk through...
We upgraded from a barrel stove sitting outside to a Mason 2x3 and a 10x12 shack. We also switched half (25) of our buckets to tubing... looking forward to seeing it all in use.
We upgraded from a barrel stove to a Mason 2x3 and built a small shack this year. Since the photo was taken we've added another section to the chimney.

I ordered my Mason 2x3 in late June and it was ready in November. Well worth the wait and road trip.

I picked up my 2x3 (our upgrade from a barrel stove) from Bill Mason in early December and saw your arch under construction - nice looking rig.
Given the dimensions of a standard 55-gallon drum (22.5 inches by 33.5 inches), I'd assume that not all of the 2x3 pan would be in contact with the flame and you wouldn't see a linear correlation...
Great thread.. saw it yesterday and had to make up some maple cashews today. Love the aroma as the maple syrup is approaching the 240 mark.
