Thanks Brad,
I may be upgrading to larger diameter in the future, but for now I am going to run with it and see how it goes. Ive yet to experience a day when it has been slamming in and overpowering...
Thanks Bill and Russell,
Russell, I have filled that 525 gallon tank I got from you 3 times now. Great addition for me, it is my feed and recirculation tank for the RO.
Now to whine about my...
Good luck to everyone on their season this year!
I really went big over the past year and did a ton of upgrades. With that I have a huge learning curve and figuring out to do. Equipment...
Good luck with the RO Build!
The filter goes into the housing with the rubber seal on the bottom.
Make sure you have the tiny O-rings in your black Vessel caps. they would be in the center...
Great Video, thanks for all that you do!
Way too small of a setup for the amount of sap you would be getting on 450 taps and an evaporator of that size. Even your pump if it were running 24 hours a day is only going to push through 30 GPH.
Lots of people bring their brix up into the 20's and 30's before boiling. It all depends on the quality of your process and RO. I personally bring my sap up to between 10-15% before I start boiling...
They worked great for me, Ive already swapped them out though as I upgraded my RO again. I now am using 20GPM meters.
I do not filter it before my prefilter. With the costs of the prefilters being so low I just prefer to stop and swap them out after I notice a slow down. Adding an extra filtering step when I have...
Excellent response!!
What MaineBackWoodsSyrup said.
Best advice I can give is just know what you are hooking it to. Shurflo sells adapters up to 3/4" for the input port. Other than that you need to decide your power...
Ive been using shurflos for years.
Ive never had a problem with them freezing or any tubing to burst because of freezing. They will pretty much run dry once the temperature drops and the switch...
I have 3 or 4 ShurFlo setups I wont be using next year. I work here in Hudson near you, would be glad to sell you one of them. I have them in a black crate with the temperature switch. I use 12V...
I run a Carlin 301 on my 2x6. Just sounds like a fan, a bit of a loud fan, but definitely tolerable. I also will NEVER go back to wood. I run a 4.0 nozzle and made just over 100 gallons on 1 tank of...
3/4HP Motor and a 265gph Procon will be perfect for 1 4x40.
Had 475 gallons of Sap on Thursday night to run through the RO. Took about 3 hours to get it up to 8% and down to about 170 gallons of concentrate to boil. Made 13 gallons and bottled it all on...
Hey Dave, not sure where the Question is about the Honda? That wasnt me.
I have a 12CFM Chinese Vacuum pump attached to the Bender. I have ShurFlos on my other sections. I will get a real good...
Hi Nate,
You can hear it leaking out from under the cap where the rod seats down. I dont see anyway to actually fix it. It sort of is what it is. I do have check valves on the incoming and outgoing...
Wanted to show a little video of my sap running last night around 930 using my Bender releaser. As fun as it is to see this system actually work I am sure its going to be a 1 season thing for me. I...
Im at work in Hudson, BAE, and wishing I was home today. I have about 350 gallons sitting in my tanks waiting for me. They were already running this morning when I came in to work, so I assume should...
Fingers crossed!!
Thanks Brad, I had contacted MES about a releaser and they told me they didnt make one rated for 250 taps. I was hoping for a smaller unit, but no luck. Im pretty handy, maybe I will make one once...
I have about 50 gallons from one of my lines in Merrimack, the other 3 didnt run yet. Still a bunch of snow around the trees and the ground is pretty solid. I hope today it changes!!
Hey Brad,
YES!!! I got them all done in 1 day. I started at 7am and finished about 5pm. 5 Hour Energy drinks were the ticket LOL
The bit found a few dead spots on some trees, when that happened...
Tapped 660 on Friday. I really thought it was going to take me at least 2 days to get them all done, but that new DeWalt 20v with MES tapping bit just flies through the trees.
Yesterday the sap...
