There are close to a hundred of us now that install maple tubing now!
You should call your dealer and get them involved. Leader will assist with any technical data you need and I have seen them come down and help get a unit dialed in for a customer that needed help....
Glad to hear you found something to put in place! Always hard when vacuum systems go down.
Hope you have a great season Matt!
We have a similiar situtation. We ran another wet/dry branching over through the other taps for this section and sleeved the trail in one of the lower elevation areas. Seemed to work well as I hate...

Theron,
You should get ahold of Steve and ask him to send you one of the notebooks. It makes great studying for when the lights went out in the headlamp and the wife won't let you take batteries out...
I appreciate your stating where you disagree. I will say that your system is also "separting the sap from the gas" as the gas will rise into the dryline. I was curious of this very fact myself and...
Brady, do you mind telling what you made this year? I'm more curious from a standpoing of knowing the state's general concensus of production. We have several friends up in your area that didn't have...
I wonder how you want to measure? Amount produced? Average per tap? Or the sheer number of holes drilled per year?
I know you guys do a great job up there. How was your year?
CV Adapters are designed to work with vacuum not without them. At the last weeks temps, any sap sitting near the hole is going to cause rapid closure.
Check out this story. This is a little blurp on our sugaring operation.

As I was reading some of your posts, I was reminded how much of a family type business the maple production is. With fathers day coming, I thought we should at least honor those dads who have given...
Thanks for the reminder Jim! I'm thankful for such a gift!
Buy a diamond blade for your 7 1/4" circ saw. Then make a jig and guide so can slide the brick right under. It will cut it right in half.
If my memory serves me right, Highland Sugarworks had one 16x30. It was wood fired and and one man loaded small railcars with wood while the otheremptied them into the arch. I remember the size as it...
The barrells are actually pretty good. We got 60 last year because we couldn't get stainless for the new woods we picked up. The greatest draw-back is the course thread bungs. They are just harder to...

Well the frame and shell are all up on the new facility. Been a long time coming, and to think four weeks ago this was cow pasture!
Hope to get alot more done this coming week!
I am working a show this weekend, so I won't be around. Too bad cause I always enjoy to meet new people especially fellow sugarmakers.
Maybe we can get together sometime.
Thanks
Dan
Theron, It was nice to meet you today. Sounds like you have a great set-up over the border. It's always nice to meet someone else who is passionate about maple----and you are all of that!!!!!
I...
Me thinks the season will be proportional to how much we work and time we have spent detailing our tubing systems and will be spending keeping the systems tight combined with the blessing provided by...
"Balsam Woods Farm is nestled in a quiet corner of the hills of New England. Here, we make Real Maple Syrup on land that has been in the same family for generations. Our quality syrup is Mother...
I'm not trying to start any fires, but I believe we need to make some things clear.
Dave,
I'm sure you are actually following the same practices as an organic sugarbush-or at least the ones you...
First all syrup is not organic--even Uncle Sam agrees. Think of all the "new" things introduced to the maple industry over the years that we found out weren't so great-case in point-furmaldehide. It...
