We have a 2X4 leader WSE evap. Do most folks finish the syrup in the evap or take off almost syrup and finish it elsewhere?

does the maple sap flow up from the roots and out the spile or down from the tree and out the spile? Does the first run sap flow different than the later runs?

What if I poured a gal or 2 of vinegar and filled the evaporator with water and fired it up. Would that help clean it?

Isn't a Box Elder in the Maple family? Should be the same unless its a different tree in the desert country.

emptied pails Monday got almost 30 gas sap from 12 taps.running 3%

We tapped 12 trees today about 50 miles south of Chicago. The sap ran full from all taps suspect all pails will be full or over half way by Sunday.

you couldn't do that with pails so where to put the 2nd tap?

I got 15 more gals Thursday the sap was running good but not today temp 6 degrees fahrenheit

The 5 trees I tapped last week had about 10 sap total this morning it must have ran yesterday.

I got 15 gal of sap this afternoon from the 10 taps of yesterday. will keep it in the SS where it will stay cold. The demos start Friday and continue on until 2 April. Located in Joliet Il.

I tapped 10 tress today sap ran steady from all but 1 tap. know its early but had to do it for syrup demos that start next week. They will probably heal over when it gets cold again. At least I will...

Contact the Sugar Bush in Mason Mich. We buy 300 to 400 gal every year from them. Nice people.
