A little over a gallon last night. Neighbors not tapped yet. Feul oil tank arch home made flat pans. Gather with wheeler,70 taps. weather not quite right yet.

Around here that sleigh would be called a jumper. Many have been made of the butt log that grew on a side hill with a sharp sweep. cut in half with a chain saw. when the wood wore out throw it away...

At the Maple Museum in Croghan ny ther is a very old pan as you plan to build how it worked I have no idea, as no one remembered using it.
Light sandy soil and higher elevation, fast boiling. best price but not much flavor. I was raised on syrup boiled on the old wood fired cookstove. I make in a black pan so it is darker.

Tapped a few Thursday. Friday a few more not running very good. Snow to deep for Wheeler but the old 8-N can go through.
