I’m glade I started early this year as it helped me work out the bugs in my updated setup. Ended up throwing out it loosing about 30 gallons of sap because of stupidity, but have now collected over...

Not sure why they went sideways, but here is an example of shorting the fire box.
Your loosing a lot of heat without ceramic blanket and fire bricks. That would be a easy first step.
Here’s a range report for anyone who is interested. 29 taps in by 2pm and around 7pm, accumulating was about 15 gallons. So not bad for 5 hrs. The ones in the sun were dripping good.
Yeah that post is very helpful, I actually subscribed to it awhile ago as a reference. Thanks.
My Taps are going in today looking at this 4 day forecast.
Great craftsmanship and A+ in my book of ways to re-purpose material.
Wow UV lights, now there's thinking outside of the box. Great Idea.
Thanks for all the pictures and I'll put mine up when its built.

:o :D Great idea
Ahh yes, I do like the idea of being able to find leaks if needed. Also the light switch is a great idea.
Just purchased a RO Bucket RB10 kit and was curious on the preferred installed mounting. Example: are you mounting it on a piece of scrap wood ( of your choice) or does it actually make it easier...
Anyone thinking about tapping this weekend ? Sunday and Monday look really good. :D I'm in the T.C. area.
Yeah, that's good one. I needed a good laugh today.:lol:

I just acquired a similar pan that your looking for from the Vermont Evap co. It will be over a barrel that I’m building right now also. Just tapped 15 trees tonight as it’s the only free time...
