got 15 cm (6”) of snow and tomorrow another 30cm (12”)...

Crazy day..last night my 300g tank was at 25g . This morning it overflow …i started the evaporator at 10:00 after filing the evaporator
tanks was at 270g.

I boil +/- 30g per...

After a beautiful weekend of boiling and almost 10 gallons of syrup, now we got snow and below zero for few days. That gives me a little break.

Life is fantastic… the last two days went very well ..SAP is still running tonight. Base on the latest forecast i’ll be boiling everyday for the next 15 days.

Here its 1.7 brix. All lines roughly the same., we also have a few buckets that start running tonight and the sugar content is 2 brix

Sugarshack is clean and ready for boiling, but by Wednesday temperature will drop to -18c (11f) for 24hrs. Instead tomorrow i’ll check my taps for vacuum leak….

No rush forecast...

Tapping completed.

Interesting fact with this year snow cover my taps are 2 ft lower than previous year and some tree almost 3ft. The snow was so hard i did not have my snowshoes.

Tapping will be Wednesday, by mid next week Weather will be perfect with a windows of 10 days for now.

I will do that for the new bottle. For the other on i’ll just rinse them and put in the oven. That is not too much work

I read several post and still not sure what i can do to sterilize my bottle before filling them other then boiling them.

Can I just spray them with Starsan after cleaning...

Today was my last day for boiling

Still flowing a little bit. But too warn inside of the shack and forecast for the next days is over 20c… time to prepare the Dock and the boat.

I’m not done yet. 4 hrs of boiling today and still SAP running tonight. Snow melt very fast and even at 17:00 still 16c outside.

I left with 100 gallons of Sap in the tank. May be...

What a great day.. but little warm inside of the shack.

Not done yet , SAP is still flowing ,i’ll continu tomorrow after 6hrs of boiling and 5g of syrup time to relax this evening.

But i got...

Probably the last day of boiling today. 200 g of sap in the tank + plus today flow.

-2 right now will be +12 this aft. By the end of this week +20c…

Finally it was a great day 6G of syrup ..not that bad for a small 2x6 D&G…. Was fun!

Last boiling in 48 hrs and after that temperature will be too high.
