boiling point is the only way to kill the bacteria. there is no way sap is still good at this point. everyone else has pulled taps
As I only remember part of that conversation :) I am at least glad the format is back to normal and we've retained all the past 25 years of debate and info past along.
give me a call i have something for you.
I DO BELIEVE PPAQ WILL BE AT $2.65 ca. That puts it at $1.97 us. Ohio bulk buyers are already at $2.60 for the top 3 and they won't be buying much local with the crappy year we had.
lets not get too carried away
weather here is not ideal for fall tapping and i would only tap hard maples this time of year. Theres not been a cold snap enough to kick start anything.
Be careful where you jump you might step on it. It's hard to see.
Haven't done that style but it doesn't look much different than others. You could bring it down to my shop and we could help with it.
Buy up what there is, cause there is no more
I have one for $1200. The Leader Clear Candy, has a see through screw for the ease of knowing exactly what stage the fondant is in. Works decent very hard to pick up.
I have one in great shape  10 plate for sale . whole or in pieces whichever sells the fastest
thank you i fixed the messages board and replied to your email
send me a pic. that is one of the most popular releasers and still made. sounds like its out of adjustment and everything on it is able to be serviced.
We only get 5.5# per gal sometimes 6#. gallon of sap is 8# and syrup is 11#
just using the math thats 12gal batches. bigger issue is space and climate control to sift and "cure" time.
Impellor pumps create a lot of turbulence. Use an air pump, I happen to have a couple
boil in water. it's just sodium residue.
It doesn't take much. most mix at 26% for the 72 which is 3 to one. For the US guys it can't be used yet.
pulled in another couple thousand gallons today out of my 30P. made 185 gallons of some real nice amber. best stuff ive put through my Clear Press this year.
In Ohio $1.5/tap is standard, but depends on your agreement.
John what kind of Canadian math is that??
Had this happen many times. H&M has cut out the front section and turned it into a bolt on option and caps on the ends of the tubes for direct contact cleaning. the early models were solder and...
The season is nowhere near over in the area. The flow has slowed down but still getting 1-1.5 gallons a day when it does run.
Not available anymore through maple. They have them out there for $700+
Well my feelings are still healing, it may be a long process.
