Bring it to mason ill boil it
Hello sappers,
Another season is upon us. We plan on tapping next Friday. As the forecast looks now. With a few cold days the first week of March. Shaping up to be a good season. If the 3 rd week...
The sugar will drop off then the season will be over. Our sugar has dropped abit. We will be over 1000 gallons of syrup made today.
Our sugar has been really good this year. Some road trees over 4% woods averaged over 3%. We have boiled over 20,000 gallons of sap, and made over 700 gallons of syrup. Looks like a good week this...
We made 125 gallons yesterday 249 total.
We will be tapping this weekend should be over 3000 taps in by Monday. Hopefully have our first boil on Tuesday. Hoping everyone has a great season.
We'll be done this week as well, over 60,000 gallons of sap, over 1600 gallons of syrup made. What a great season.
I see this every year. It gets a little warm in February and people want to tap. We were in the woods all day running lines darn cold. With 2" of rain coming , that's going to make a mess. Get the...
The trees finely brook loose Thursday night we logged in over 6100 gallons of sap yesterday. As of this afternoon we have made over 1000 gallons of syrup. We might run out of wood before it's over.
We took in over 4100, gallons of sap yesterday. Made over 60 gallons of syrup, dark amber good flavor. Still have 2300 to boil. Should have around 1000 gallons of sap to collect today.
We averaged over 2 gallons of sap per tap yesterday. Made 30 gallons of medium amber syrup. Probably get enough sap today for another 30. Still have frost in the woods.
Yes it does take a while for the trees to warm up and run. We won't get a good run until Sunday.
All our sap has been above 2%, our highest was 2.75%.
Thanks funny guy. I'm a little sap silly after last week.
Yes I did mean April, sorry
Get ready for the next run. Those who waited to tap will be rewarded, those who tapped early might not have as good of a run. Things are setting up just like 2013. That year we froze up for 8 days,...
What an odd ,crazy year. Bugs early, warm early, low sugar, starting with darker syrup. But we still made 1062 gallons of syrup. We'll take it.
Until next year see ya 😁😁
We've made mostly dark syrup. Low sugar is part of it takes longer to get to syrup. Had some warm weather. Sap gets over 45 degrees can't make light syrup.
Received some 3% sap yesterday. Trees are waking up
We prefer a sap hydrometer .
We pulled 375 gallons of sap from one of our woods yesterday. Only 1.75% sugar. Also hearing other producers in our area with low sugar. We need this warm weather to get things moving. With a cool...
Keep clam my fellow sapers. Yes it's started a little slow. But the trees aren't going to bud with a few warm days. We had a lot of cold, frost is a foot or more. When the frost goes then the big...
My buddy makes maple whiskey, so smooth😁
It's going to take a few days to get them to run. Below zero last night. Trees in full sun will run sooner, trees deep in the woods will take a while. I don't think we will get a good run (a gallon...
