Are you maybe stirring the syrup in the filter or squeezing it? I found this lets nitre through. Need to diump it in and just let it go through by itself
And my wife thinks I have a problem...
Have to admit after selling the homestead I have sure been enjoying this west coast weather... but man the thoughts of missing the first sap run are killing me! Hope you all have a great...

Sad that I am no longer sugaring so am not getting the Jan panic mode. Will be heading to the big leaf maple festival out here in bc in a couple weeks. Maybe they need a volunteer!

Ordered a new polaris ranger 570 and telling my wife we needed it for maple stuff!!! That's the closest thing to maple I have been up to.
Harvested a small chunk today and Had some ramp and vegetable soup. Not too strong but nice taste to it. Tomorrow is ramp and potato soup. They are a decent size now
my kid ate one of those wild leaks and complained for hours! now that I am aware of them it's all I can smell in the back.. I could harvest a massive crop if I wanted to.

Hey Kyle, curious if you retested any of your syrup cold to see how it finished. I always test boiling hot about 1/2 notch past done and it is fine cold. I always figure it cools down quicker...
