I don't have the preheater. This one came with the probe and threaded port for it in the stack. I didn't order it so must be standard equipment now. I did opt for the stainless fire door.
They are claiming it will do 100 gph in full forced draft mode. But I plan to run it more in the gasification mode. I'm guessing in the 80-90 gph range.
It's like early Christmas here. CDL Intensofire 2.5 x 8 with cdl auto draw off. Now I just have to find time too brick it and get all the stack up. Everything looks great! I posted the arrival...
Well, My CDL Intensofire is here. It is a beautiful sight..... Can't wait to boil with it. Have to brick it up when I get time. All pan and float box connections are 2". They just reduced for the...
Hey Neil,
Are all of your pan connections 1.5", or just the draw off?
Thanks, Brian
My dealer thought the 1.5" connections option would be sufficient for a n evaporator this size. I'm sure it's not too late to change this if there is a big advantage. Also, the 1.5" modulating draw...
I ordered the 2 1/2 x 8. Do you use the gasification mode or forced draft mode the most? I am considering adding the reverse option for the syrup pans....But pricey at $2000. Do you have the cdl...
I'd like to here from Intensofire owners. How do you like it? Any problems? Anything a new CDL Intensofire owner should now? Any regrets? What options you have? etc.
Thanks.
Brian
Hey Justin,
I agree with your son, Austin. I ordered our new CDL Intensofire Saturday at my local dealer's open house. It's a 2.5 x 10. He stated max evap rate on forced draft mode is 125 gph. ...
It does have a recirculation loop plumbed into it. Also, there are 2 other vessels on the machine that I am not currently using. In total there are 4 vessels. I plan to use them when I get my tap...
Pump repaired. Had the end welded on. Works just fine now. Yahoo!
My RO quit last night. The Tonkaflo pump is all done. So, I am looking for a replacement pump. The outlet end of the pump blew off. The threads on the end cap that threads into the pump appear to...
Brian,
The plan for now is to leave the vac pump and releaser up by the woods where it is. This new line would be used to pump the sap down to an easier location to pick up when tank is full. It's...
Hey Brian,
Why so close together? I was thinking 15 feet was close. Do they flex a lot? Wire shouldn't sag in 15'. It will be 1.5" line though. Also, where do you get white mainline? Does it...
I want to run a mainline 1500 ft. up across open pasture to get to my woods. Has anybody used metal T-posts to run mainline this way. Any advise welcome. Distance apart? How deep to drive them?...
We had low sugar all season 1.5% had 1.7% one day. Total of 192 gal on 800 taps. 30 gal med. 157 gal dark. 5 gal B. Last year we made all light and our sugar content was never below 2% usually...
I have an old Osmonics RO. It has two copper tubing lines with compression fittings. Had no leaks until I did the acid wash. Now I have two dripping compression fittings. I tried to tighten them, but...
How many taps do you have?
This sap price list was in the Feb. 2014 Maple Syrup Digest. It says it is based on the retail price of syrup.
Brian
Oops. wrong quote. This is the original post. Do you want sap prices?
Do you want sap prices? You mentioned buying sap, but want a by the pound price. Sap is bought and sold by the gallon.
Brian
Hey Brian,
We have been adding taps as well to try to hold onto our sanity. We were able to get 500 taps in across the road on the cold side. So much spare time I had to do something. Now I'm...
Burning your old tubing is not good at all for the environment. I disagree with anyone burning old tubing. Take it to the dump or waste transfer station. They will know how to handle properly.

God job Brian. Thanks for sharing the pics. We ended up with 203 gallons of syrup with around 500 taps. 180 of those taps were not our own.... they were on buckets. Ours on vac averaged .45...
