We had the same problem with the usps flat rate boxes. Now we just insert extra cardboard all the way around the inside and double tape. That solved the problem.

Yes get a 10 inch. If we don't have that much sap for the day we just use 1/2 or 1/3 of the plates. On big days we use them all. This way as you expand the capacity is there. Best. Jim
