First Boil of the year. I have collected around 18 gallons of sap in 10 days from 6 taps.

I've collected about 8 gallons of sap from 6 taps in 4 days.

Got mine in today. Sap was flowing as soon as the drill came out of the tree. I-70 Central Illinois Weather looks a little warm actually next couple weeks.

Pulled my taps yesterday. Currently sitting at 1 gallon and a 1/2 pint of syrup made. I have 5 gallons of sap in the fridge from my trees and thanks to a fellow syrup maker have an additional 20...

Weather looks good for the next 7 days. Keep your fingers crossed maybe we'll make some more syrup yet.

Finally finished some sirup today. Ended up with 8 1/2 pints after my 3rd boil. Temp today in Central IL is over 70. Need more sap runs to get to my 2+ gallon goal from 3 trees.

Good sap run 2/28 to 3/1 collected 12 gallons out of 3 trees. Started my second boil of the year. I have about a gallon of super sweet concentrate from my first boil.

Second boil of the season 3 more pints of syrup. Makes a total of 6 pints for the year. Silver maple buds are swelling, temps are supposed to be in the 60's the next several days.

Another boil started today. Collected about 15 gallons of sap this week from my 3 trees. Weather forecast looks marginal for the next week or so. This may be the last boil of the 2020 season.

2 1/2 pints from 10 gallons of sap today. Gives me 12 1/2 pints for the season.

Third boil started today. Good sap run overnight temp near 60 today. Silver maples buds are swelling, probably not many days left in the 2020 season.

Tapped my 3 trees back on Jan 20. Have boiled twice and have a gallon and 1 quart of syrup made so far. Weather still looks good for the next several weeks, hopefully will get enough sap to do 1...
