$1.23 a bird for meat chicks. All cockerels cornish X
Well I didn't have any losses this year. 150 chicks ordered. They shipped 154 and all survived.
I get my meat birds from Pa. Shipped on a Monday and I got them on Thursday. Guess I was lucky.
I'm...
Don't have anything to swap Chris but I would attend for sure.
When it comes to maple equipment all I can do is upgrade at this point.
I'm using a 2x6 on a block arch. No blower. The best I could get was 11 gallons per hour. Fired every 5 minute with the whole pan boiling.
Not so sure you will see 20-25. What will you do for a pre...
Looks like Chris is the only one around here to have a banner season.
Not sure how much sap you have. I'll be packing snow up around my drums.
Also I will freeze up sap to use as extra large ice cubes in the drums.
Best thing you can do is boil asap.
Bleach and fresh air is the way to go
I'm tapped in Ipswich Ma and Newton NH. Low volume at both locations although Ipswich is picking up a bit.

53 yes 7 no
Fill a thermos with hot water. Just put the end in for a minute or so.
Thanks for getting back to me. I have cone filters so it may not be deep enough.
Anything happening with gravity and buckets Brad?
Tapped in Ipswich. I'm set up to collect twice a week.
Land owner is keeping an eye on the buckets on the off days. He called to say the buckets are overflowing. :)
GramaCindy do you use a cone filter inside the 30 cup coffee urn?
Trying to decide if its large enough.
 It's official then.
Anything on gravity or buckets yet Brad?
I'll be tapping some on Saturday.
I have some trees to tap in Ipswich and was wondering how the sap is flowing?
Is the volume of sap up any on the Red Maple Chris?
Brad it's torture knowing a few miles down the road Chris is already boiling. :o
I'm keeping an eye on you to see when you're gonna start. Reds on buckets for me. I hate waiting.
The sap just pours out of those trees around your house Chris. I think it was around April 6th that I pulled those taps.
They ran great til the 4th.
Sorry to say I'm not the one with permission...
Are the trees at the school Sugars or Reds Chris?
You're a lucky man Chris.
Hope you let me stop in to visit when you get cooking this season. Be cool to see everything up and running this year.
