Finished installing new drops and tapping tonight. Got the lines rerouted to the new sugar shack. Only a few loose ends to take care of and we'll be ready to go. I know it’s early but I’m hoping to...
Small hobby setup. Somewhere between 50-60 taps. I'm contemplating changing out all the drops but if I could avoid that it would be nice. Thanks.
I know this has probably been covered before but I’ll ask the question again. I did not clean my lines after last season and am wondering what the best way to go about it is prior to tapping this...
Currently in the process of building my first sugar shack. I was planning on using a steam hood instead of a cupola but am interested to know if there are any other alternatives I can use. I thought...
Up to 300 gallons of sap so far off of 48 taps on 3/16 tubing. Going to be a loooong weekend of boiling on my little 2x3 evaporator.
It’s supposed to hit 65 degrees here tomorrow. I have about 60 gallons (a lot for this small scale producer)in a 275 gallon tote that I packed snow around and surrounded with plywood to act as some...
Ran a test boil today and the preheat pan was boiling once everything got up to temp. Pretty happy so far. Thinking I’ll getaround 10 gph once I get it dialed in.
Thanks! I hope so too. Can't wait to fire her up and see how she runs.
Finished up the new rig yesterday and got it home today. Still new to brick it and mount the blower. Can’t wait to try it out.176201762117622
Does the amount of sap flow correlate to the amount of vacuum on that line? Low flow=lower vacuum?
Patience is not one of my better traits. Thanks for the help!
Can I hook this up to my 3/16 lines without any issues or would I have to convert everything over to 5/16 tubing?
This is my first year on 3/16 tubing. I tapped two days ago and today is near 40 and sunny. I went and checked the lines to see if anything was running and noticed there was a small amount of sap in...
Looks like temps will hit the mid 40’s a few time this week. Thinking about tapping tomorrow after work, interestered In seeing how the new 3/16 lines perform.
The long range forecast is showing good weather this weekend and next week. Is anyone thinking about tapping early this year?
I’ve been planning my 3/16 tubing run and need some advice. I have a group of trees located away from my main run I’d like to put on tubing. Would I be better off teeing into my main run or just...
I believe this is 146 cfm blower....how does it work with your set up? I have a 2x3 evaporator and I ordered a 100 cfm blower. I’m hoping it’s enough to do the trick.
Did you ever get the blower cfm for Your Mason 2x3? I’m looking to add a blower to my setup and want to size it correctly. Thanks.
I plan on running a 100 cfm blower. Should I make any adjustments to the space below the pan to allow for the increase in air flow?
I’m in the process of building a 2x3 arch and am wondering how important it is to have a ramp from the firebox rather than just a 90 degree transition. The firebox is 24”x24” and I plan on leaving 5”...
That is a good question and something I hadn't considered. I guess I'm looking for the best option before I start building. I'm still new to this so any input is greatly appreciated.
I'm getting ready to build a new 2'x3' evaporator, continuous flow pan and warming pan. My thought is to build the warming pan as part of the stack so it captures all the heat going out. I would weld...
