Thanks All.
Always learning, and trying to improve.

I picked up about 40 galons today.... Slow day.
I'm hopeful for another couple days and then I'll probably start thinking about pulling taps.
I don't see much potential here beyone the 13/14th, at...
Hi All,
As a contnual learner in this game, I'd lke to focus some attention next year on sap storage and tanks cleaning.
My system as of this year:
55gal plastic barrel at the 4048 pump....
Is anyone else serioulsy thinking its over?
I'm on the fence, but not optomisitc.
Sap is still running slowly, and I will boil off all the resrves tomorrow.
I'm wondering if this is the last for...
Neither did I. Maybe 100 gallons on 160 taps. I was expecting more.
This week doesn't worry me too much as we should flirt with 32F tongight. I"m hoping for a very good day today. Tuesday into wednesday stays warm but then we are back into a freeze.
What has...
Hi All,
Does anyone have a source of mount brackets for a 3012 housing that are not $20 each?
Thanks,
Bryan
I"m running about 160 taps on a single 4048 and have 22"+ on each line except the two longest that show 16-18".
Check for leaks as I was able to pull 18-20" on 120 with a single 4008 last year....
Hi All,
I'm leaving town for a few days. The forecast has me at 17F one of the nights I'm away.
Is this too hard of a freeze for the pans (flue and syrup) or should I be fine?
What temp do you...
Hows everyone doing this week?
I've been slower than expected....
Yeah, I tend to get ahead of myself.
With the float boxes it was very straightforward.
I just stopped feeding the fire and waited for things to cool down.
Once I was comfortable I added an...
... Should have written raised flue... My bad. Sorry guys.
Hi Guys.
I’d like your recommendations on some 1/2” ID tuning to use for pumping sap around the shack. Something that is flexible enough when cold but won’t collapse on itself when under suction...
Hey guys.
First boil has been going well and the pan is getting close to sweet.
That said, as I’m sitting here watching the rig rip, I realized I didn’t have a shutdown procedure in mind.
...
Put in all 151 taps today. I had to chase some squirrel chews and a tap or two that were cracked, but all is good and the first run is running to ground to clean the lines.
Hopefully I can get the...
Hi All,
This is the first year with the new drop flue pan.
What is the process for sweetening the pan and establishing a gradient?
I imaging the flue pan evaporatoes fatster than the syrup...
I'm hoping to get about 75 taps in tomorrow.
Then another 75 later this week.
Buckets will come a couple weeks later.
At least, thats the plan...
Haven’t decided yet.
I’m still eying the first week in February as the warm up next week won’t do much for flows as it will be above freezing for several days.
I usually do well tapping around...
Was hoping to but the mountains of Vermont are calling me....
Sugar Bear... you are better than a bottle of Xanax.
Thanks for calming my nerves.
I'm moving indoors this year. Feel free to come join me at some point!
That invitation goes for everyone else...
Hey All,
Figured I'd get this going as it's now 2024...
I hope everyone had a good off-season, and is busy getting ready for 2024.
Needless to say, its been an interesting start to the...
Hello All,
Im curious what you are all doing for custom labels.
I'd like to find an affordable source of custom labels that wont break the back for glass bottles.
All hlep is appreciated....
Good timing... I just ordered a 500 watt 12vdc transformer and will see how well it runs the Everflo.
If it works well I'll buy another 5.5 or 7.0gpm and be done with it.
How do you mount your...
Thansk for the info. I'm willing to buy new, but not sure where to start.
If you were doing it again, and spending my money, where would you spend it and what would you buy?
I'm looking for near...
