Any update on bulk prices?
No, there are a few of us up north, susquehanna county, still boiling. But it is coming to a close soon. Good luck!
I use the clear poly thin wall for a few years now no issues, 27 1/2- 28 inches on vacuum all season.
What kind of vacuum do you run and do they ever leak? Thanks, I like the idea..
Just curious Ennis? Why the cam locks? Do you move the releaser in off season?
Craig
L&S picked up from my place and hauled syrup back to Wisconsin a few years back. Seem like good people.
Yes we are only at a 1/3 of a crop right now as well. I see 6 nights without a freeze right now, not good
Runs are not strong here either. The forecast now has me a little concerned but we are not in control of that!
It’ll come, just all at once!!
I have 2000 on 1 1/4” over 1 1/4” that runs 2500 then branches off. Run 27+ all season and average .40 gals every year. Maybe should go 1 1/2” on dry line but just too lazy. Also have no problems...
Prices sawmill in Lenox, Pa. May be a Kingsley address. I bought some boards from them years back. They like dabbling in odd wood. Good people. Craig...
I think the issue you will run into is elevation. The pump in releaser has reduced flow when under high vacuum. They work great pumping into a tank but to pump up elevation I think there is a limit....
Is that 80 gallons of “raw” sap? If your at 1% sugar a gallon is right. You always loose a little through each process, ro, boil, etc.
We are still running good up in Susquehanna county but theses next few days are gonna hurt. 66 on Friday, wow!
Hang on Mike winter is almost here!!
Thanks for the replies. I was hoping for a different answer but that is life. I’ll try a test today with a little higher sugar and shorter boil. If nothing else I’ll have more time to clean the front...
A question probably for Dr. Tim. We boil at 15-16% concentration . As the season progresses niter builds/darkens faster on the front pan. If I was to up the concentration to 17-18% so the boils would...
For sure! We are over 2.5 per tap since yesterday at 1400!! Looks like a late night Mike.
Well said eagle lake! They have their place for sure. Good info.
Craig
Just curious about a few things. Do you replace drops on regular basis? What taps were you using before? Do you leave vacuum on all the time? I use cv2’s as well but every season is different and I...
Mike I run two of MES’ releasers with internal three phase pump. I would reccomend them, always helpful when I have a question. Craig
We have two 18x36 with single pump. Work excellent. Pm if you have any specific questions, Craig.
Ours went buddy not sure why either. I shut off the few reds we have but still produced off flavor. Oh well it’s the end anyway. Made a lot of very good tasting stuff. Good luck guys.
Our sap is running good and crystal clear here again. Craig
No just good vacuum and woods management. Susquehanna county.
