hey lakeview, glad that u are gearing up. yeah we have 10” on the ground and its still coming down. i have done some woods work vut thats about it. not very shipshape this year yet.
I received one too and I am not a registered farm or maple operation
It will change daily or even multiple times during the day depending on barometric pressure
Just an FYI that as soon as you ro raw sap u need to boil it or it will spoil quickly. Remember you are concentrating everything that is in that sap, from the sugar to the backteria
I bought a cheap mainline hole punch from Leader when I first started. Cost like $10.its blue and works great
Same here I let it dump until it runs clear
Have done nothing maple all summer. I have cleaned the sugar house and am getting ready to install a wood stove though
Do u have to even use a preservative??
I am still going but this Sunday maybe the end
Your time will come. I have a cold bush as well and seem to still be plugging along while others are cleaning up for the season. But I also start later than they do so it all works out. I have a...
About the same here stoweski
My Evaporator has a crack in the cast. Above right door
It's a roller coaster season this year. But yeah leave the ice block you will be glad I did later in the season, do you have an alternate tank to use in the meantime once it starts running again?
I get about 35gph on my 2x6 drop flue with forced air. I also have an ro now thank god. I wouldn't start without having 100 gallons to boil without the ro. Remember u need sap for shutting down and...
Your doing well then I am happy with anything over 10". The best I have don't is 18" but I really have to be constantly checking for leaks. I get a constant squirrel damage
i have check valves on either side. No idea if it makes a difference. I was also told that the pump works the best when it is full of water. I was told that some will add a small diameter line with a...
Operator inexperience. I thought that I was had increased the pressure on the membrane to the max when actually the valve was simply sticky (sugared over) and you really had to crank on it to work....
Sugarman3 stopped by tonight and got the ro all straightened out for me. Before long I was concentrating 2% sap to 8% sap. Can't thank him enough! Filled my 130 gallon permeate tank for a rinse...
15812 I was only adjusting one valve called the V2 valve that would regulate the pressure on the membrane dial gauge. See pic. also, my 4x40 membranes are Airablo Hydranautics PVD1
Why is the low pressure gauge so important?
Honestly I didn't pay attention to the low pressure gauge only the high. I was running the high pressure gauge at 150-200 as I was monkeying around. The stream of sap coming out of the 3/4"...
I have a springtech micro elite 160gpm with two 4x40 membranes. I have one valve that screws in and out. Screw it in for more pressure out for less. I had it screwed all the way in And it would...
Ran ro for the first time trying to concentrate sap. My permeate side was saying 2 gallons per minute but my concentrate side was maxed out 5 and no matter what I did to the concentrate valve it...
24" for my 2x6
