What I may do is use this pump but put in a bypass. That way, I can see if it makes a difference or just complicates matters. If I do, I’ll report back next season.

The tank deicer would seem to be the simplest solution. FWIW, until recently, Eastern Canadian Tractor Supply Stores were called TSC. Now they are Peavey Mart and yes, they do have them, in stock and...
I have power in the sugar house. I wired the RO closet with 2 15amp 120v circuits and a 20 amp 240v circuit. I use the 120v circuits for a feed pump and a room heater. If I unplug the room heater, I...
Back in the day when we could go to workshops, one presenter suggested doing a wash, letting it run up to temp, leaving it to soak all night and rinsing in the morning. That gives lots of contact...
The tankless heater isn’t a bad idea. Can you run that using a 20 lb BBQ tank?
Using the water from the steamaway sounds like a good idea. I wish I had one...a project for another time.
I would like to avoid using a heater on a wash tank if possible. When wash water is being recirculated, does it heat up to any degree as it is forced through the membranes or does it heat up because...
I am in the process of rebuilding my RO to add a second 4x40 post. I will be upgrading the pump to a Procon 330 with a 1.5 HP motor. Since I already have a Procon 265 gph pump, I was wondering if...
I'm glad you found my spooler and I hope it works as well for you as it did for me! I originally made it for a 500' roll of D&G tubing but then I bought a couple rolls from Leader that were 800'...
i used a 5 gallon pail with a 5/16" hole drilled near the bottom. I fit a spile into the hole and attached a couple of feet of 5/16" tubing to the spile. There was another 5/16" hole at the top of...
Last year I used 5/16 drops with 3/16 line. I used a 3/16 x 3/16 x 3/16 tee and put a short piece of 3/16 line over the leg of the tee and then trimmed it flush. The 5/16 slid nicely over that for my...
We recently ordered from Atlantic RO in the States. It ended up coming from Midwest RO in Illinois in a couple of days. The price was good too even with our poor exchange rate. Good luck. Steve...
Last year, I used 5/16" drops into 3/16" lines. I used a 3/16 x 3/16 x 3/16 T and put a short piece of 3/16 on one side of the T then pushed 5/16 over that for my drops. Worked quite well.

When I did the math, I found I could run 5 lines at 3/16" right into my tank and spend less than buying 1" for a mainline. I don't know if the 3/16" freezes faster tho. That might cut yield a bit....
Gary, in this post (#65), one of your photos shows how you wrapped the tubing around the tree. It then runs to the barrel. What holds it taught from the tree to the barrel?

I'm interested in this too as I am in a similar situation with a very steep slope down to my planned sugarhouse from a relatively flat bush. How many taps do you think it would take to justify a wet...
