Wasnt the best of runs with all the wind AGAIN! Ran better yesterday afternoon before the cool down. If it doesn't run this wed and thurs, pack it in.
We are in seneca county, south of green springs. Tapped Feb 2nd, 350 taps on vacuum. Sugar has been around 2- 3%. So far 64 gal syrup, still fixing the tubing after the last wind storm came thru....
You do have an occasional snag, and definitely don't want to wrap around trees for tension. In most part once line is on ground, it slides right past and around trees, even with drops still...
Wrapping 3/16 is not to bad. We revamped a garden hose reel to wrap up rolls of 1000'. After a few, your a pro. We found running drops In a loop across reel works good. Then next wrap holds drop...

Pushing the 30gal produced mark so far, 3/16 is no joke! Tapped jan 11th. Bags will be put up 1st thaw in Feb!

Depends if pan is sweetened already. If not I'd have min 30 gal! Even then won't be boiling long. I have a 2x 4 supreme pan and at full boil I need 10 gal min after last firing just to let the arch...
I have Leader 2x4 supreme pan, get about 18gal /hr at 1200° stack temp w/ Auf! Only difference is arch is better than half pint set up. Made 7gal amber yesterday
