Clifford I cook down in Appleton. I use a RO as well. I plan on tapping this coming weekend. If you want to come see my operation during the season just send me a message!
I plan on tapping some trees around my kid's school. His school is in a very large county park. I'm doing this as part of education for his class. Does anyone have any experience with this? How did...
I'm looking to tap around March 15th. Anyone expecting the sap to flow at all before then with all the snow and cold we have?
Just got back from the sugar bush. About 22 gallons off of about 150 taps on buckets. Almost every tap looked wet so looking forward to the next freeze thaw cycle to get a good run!
Have my sugar bush done. A couple wet taps but nothing major. A good sign though that things will open up this coming week.
I'm not quite as far north as you (I'm tapping just north of Appleton) but we're tapping this weekend, based on next weeks forecast. If there's a lot of frost in the ground the trees don't start...

I was planing on securing the tanks to a car trailer with a wooden deck. So I can secure the tanks to the deck multiple ways. The roads are all good roads. Thanks for bringing up the partial loads, I...
I'm trying to think of a way to make my operation more efficient as I've had some changes this year. This make get a little long so please just bare with me.
My situation:
I'm a paramedic who...
Put in 10 taps today to experiment for the first time with fall tapping. I had a couple taps running but not very much. I was still excited though to at least see some hope for these trees that I...
I have purchased 2 syrup hydrometers from a local store. Both of them cracked as soon as they hit the hot syrup. I want to purchase a good quality hydrometer that won't crack when they are used the...
