Finally done. Pulled taps today and have to finish/bottle 8 gallons of syrup. Finished the season with 57 gallons of syrup. How did everyone else’s season go?

So, I did about a gallon a tree too combined both days. Monday’s sap tested at 2.6% and Tuesday at 2.3%. I had tapped on 1/31 to try to get some of the early run.

You could use Banjo fittings to get over to pipe and then use T’s, nipples and quick connectors to tie all the tanks together into one big tank.

I tapped yesterday and boiled about 100 gallons today. Sap tested 2.2%

Tapped 2/14 with 266 on 3/16.

Usually silver maples are a pain to get any sap out of on buckets. If you get any sap, it will most likely be a small amount compared to a sugar maple plus a low sugar content.

The problem with using ratchet straps is that over time the nylon will break down. Thus having your main line on the ground and some other words will be said.

I would still tap the tree, depends on the size. At least a two tapper.

I've put a lot of lead in trees and still seem to be alive. You should be fine with a broken drill bit in the tree.

I would empty the buckets of snow, so you don't have to boil the extra water.

Did any rain water get into the sap?

Freezing sap is your own homemade RO. The less water you have to boil.

Last year I cleaned my lines with a bleach solution 40gal of warm water to 4 cups of bleach. It worked and even for the taps.

Finished staturday putting all the 225 taps in. Just fired up my new homemade 2x6 today. Getting 20 gallons to the hour. Sap running 1.8%

Did u sanitize the line last year?

It's not going to freeze tonight, hopefully all of 219 taps will give me plenty to boil. 124 taps on 3/16th, looks to be a good year.

The temperature you drawoff will often change day to day. If you have a barometer you could calculate what temperature you drawoff at.

The sap should be okay but it has to stay cold, ice would help with the temperature and keeping it cold.
