I collected 20 gal off of 50 taps last night. Trees with snow around them still holding back a bit more.
Didnt check the sap, but mondays sap was 2.8%.

Same here, very slow start in southern Maine. Hopefully today kicks everything into gear

I have 30 of them that im using and I didnt notice any odor at all. Im sure once you hang them on the trees, any resiudal odor will quickily disappear.

i have a new 2x4XL for this season. Id go XL if i were you as well! That preheater directly on the fire really makes a huge difference

id say no it wont hold up. I used black high temp gasket adhesive to secure my gasket

I just got a new 2x4 Mason XL this season. My shutdown plan (tentatively) is going to be to flood down the pan maybe an extra 1-2" and let that boil. Then once the boiling has pretty much stopped...

So we have been tossing the idea around about going to a gas finisher/bottler. How are you guys filtering when using one? I have heard several people say to draw off the evaporator into the finisher...
